- Tree root encroachment
As trees grows larger and larger ,their roots extend further and further into soil ,the roots will make contact with other underground entities like water pipes. - Corrosion
Pipes will burst quite simply because they have taken on too much abuse over the years when this occurs pipes corrode ,barrow and slowly burst open. - Soil Shifting
Water pipes burst because the soil around them shifts.
This normally happens when construction is being carried out in close proximity to said pipes. - High water pressure
Water pressure rises for s variety of reasons
Sometimes its simply pumped into your house at too high speed
Impairments in your pipes can cause water to slow down and speed up at inopportune times. - Clogs
Existence of a clog results in burst pipes.
When a clog exists in your pipes ,it can cause undue pressure to build up within those pipes
At some point this pressure will become too much for the pipe to bear at which point it will crack
If it is an indoor blockage, it could have occurred because of heavy materials or objects being flushed down the drain. Overflowing drains are often caused by sanitary products, paper towels or other hard to flush materials which can clog pipes and obstruct drains. Wipes, tissues, and even hair can also be the culprits.
